All interested in the newest history of Gdansk, Polish and Eastern Europe are welcome to European Solidarity Centre. Our professional tour guides will lead you throughout the most Poland`s interesting museum about communism time and Cold War.
The tour will led by a exhibition, where in chronological order is presented Poland under Communism. We’ll start with the introduction of Communism Regime in Poland and the Stalinist period. Then we will look at the first protests in Poland, especially the most important, which took place in Gdansk on December of 1970 and August 1980. We will not run out of interesting information about the creation of „Solidarity”, introduction of martial law, The Round Table Agreement, first free elections in Poland and the collapse of communism regime in the whole Eastern Europe. Additional advantage of the exhibition are original exhibits from the Gdansk Shipyard, the period of „Carnival of Solidarity”, original videos and photos. As if that was not enough we also will visit winter garden, check if Lech Walesa is in his office and enter the observation deck with a beautiful panoramic view of the post-Shipyard area, and Gdańsk’s Old Towns.
